After a grueling battle, the heroes paid the wyvern <u>[[Chillwyrm]]</u>, collected goblin ears, and rested in a room with ex-prisoners. In the morning, Cormir mastered Giant runes (Rune Knight), Morthos grasped magic (Arcane Trickster), and Drex gained spells and a celestial familiar, Starborn. They decided to head to <u>[[Tomar’s Crossing]]</u> with the surviving ex-prisoners. One of them, <u>[[Borden]]</u> mentioned their abandoned village <u>[[Sweetwater]]</u>, with a priestess <u>[[Phalin]]</u> and her acolyte daughter <u>[[Callie]]</u> who had stayed behind to maintain the trap on an undead merath.

They also found a map to <u>[[Gardong Marhold]]</u>, where necromancer <u>[[Ralekai Gravemore]]</u> and other prisoners might be. Offering gems, they bargained with the wyvern to let them leave with the ex-prisoners. While heading to Tomar’s Crossing, they encountered cultists worshipping ''"Gar’tulmak."'' A battle broke out, and cultists were defeated, saving a dwarf hostage.
