==Open Plots Lines (to remind the PCs)== Here is a list of the current open “plots”, how the party found out about them and what “clues”they have come across so far… Not necessarily in any order... Though given the name of the campaign is "The Demonplage" - thought it best to pop that one at the top :-) #[[Xancrown|The Demonplague]] ##See link above. ##Having battled Merriath twice, the party know she can cast some fairly powerful spells, including Wall of Fire, Dimension Door, Fireball, Dispel Magic, Flaming Hands, Invisibility and Scorching Ray with possibly others. She apparently also has a poison dagger, and some means of changing her appearance. ##Apparently Merriath will need a good uninterrupted hour to perform the ritual once she has kidnapped Kadra. ##The party left Tomar's Crossing with this unresolved - leaving the town in a state of paranoia looking for the murderous shapeshifter. When they returned a few days later, Merriath had not yet been discovered - and Kadra was still alive... so far. #Investigate Bjalien’s stolen locket. ##He suspects one of his fellow council members - Colinus Birthwitch, Paumine Sandlewood or Kadra Tourmaline. #Guard the Bakery ##Phelm Barristar asked the party if they would sleep in the bakery at night as he was paranoid that given the deluge of refugees in the town and the lack of food, that someone would break in. He would allow the PCs to have free baked goods as payment. ##Messa Barristar was obviously upset about something when Morthos first entered the bakery, but submissively left when her husband Phelm came in with their three small children. She visited the PCs whilst they were spending the night in the bakery, and Mogadon suggested she speak to Isperil Lightwind, the village priestess about her deep depression. ##Cormir found a concealed hiding spot in the floor of the bakery with a burlap bag hidden below, trapped by a small bell, where the paranoid Phelm was obviously hiding stuff. The PCs spent just one night there before heading off to Fort Frostfell. ##When the party returned to Tomar's Crossing, they saw Phelm Barrister - he looked somewhat haunted, but they didn't speak to him. #Local Politics ##Huberg Greyborn mentioned that he was frustrated by the fact that the refugees had no say in the way the village was being run - which given the refugees now outnumbered the original residents, was crazy. He wants to persuade the council to give votes to the refugees. ##Cadica Le’blorne, completely separately expressed the same desire, though stated that he would also want to run as a council member himself, ''what with his being an experienced leader and all''. ##Bjalin paid the party a bonus to parade around the village and tell everyone that he sponsored their mission to Fort Frostfell and rescue people ##Kadra mentioned - when she admitted that she was a sorceress, that Bjalin had been blackmailing her to follow his voting in the council otherwise he would reveal her secret. ##The party have shown very little inclination to get involved in the village politics. #Visit Sweetwater to deal with Merath (an undead nymph) ##Borden, one of the people rescued from Fort Frostfell, mentioned that Priestess Phalin and her acolyte daughter Callie had remained behind at the village of Sweetwater when the floods forced everyone to flee. ##Apparently, many years ago in the village, a miner (Branock Finthar) had fallen in love with a nymph named Galell, but his brother Allan, in a jealous rage, had murdered both of them. The nymph returned as an undead horror - a merath - after murdering Allan, and terrorised the village until the priests of the village intervened. Unable to vanquish the merath, they bound it with special wards in their catacombs beneath the village church. The merath had been stuck there for several generations now - with the priests renewing the wards every day to ensure she remains bound. The few times they failed, she escaped and killed someone, so Phalin and Callie remained behind when the comet struck and the villagers fled - to continue to set the wards every day.
