This page lists all the magic items received by the players, and where they got them from. ==Gem of Brightness== ===Description=== This prism shaped gem, roughly three inches long and 2 inches wide, could almost be made from glass, as it is so clear. When it catches the light, as expected, it makes pretty rainbows, but when you look closely into the middle, a faint swirling cloudiness can be seen. ===Details=== Wondrous item, uncommon This prism has 37 charges. While you are holding it, you can use an action to speak one of three command words to cause one of the following effects: * The first command word ("Daw" - the word for "light" in Al'Shekeim) causes the gem to shed bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. This effect doesn’t expend a charge. It lasts until you use a bonus action to repeat the command word or until you use another function of the gem. * The second command word ("Ash'Can Ta!" - the phrase "I blind you!" in Al'Shekeim) expends 1 charge and causes the gem to fire a brilliant beam of light at one creature you can see within 60 feet of you. The creature must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or become blinded for 1 minute. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. * The third command word ("Ash'Can Tau!" - the phrase "I blind you (plural)!" in Al'Shekeim) expends 5 charges and causes the gem to flare with blinding light in a 30-foot cone originating from it. Each creature in the cone must make a saving throw as if struck by the beam created with the second command word. When all of the gem’s charges are expended, the gem becomes a nonmagical jewel worth 50 gp. ===History=== This was given to Cormir by Kadra Tourmaline as thanks for the party bringing back the stolen food supplies from Fort Frostfell. See Session 007. She hadn't mentioned where she got it from, but given her subsequent admission that she was descended from a line of sorcerers - who can only come from Al'Shekeim, and that the command words are in that language, it is clear that it must have been made in that land. ==Sword of Sharpness== ===Description=== This fine quality long sword has beautiful inlaying on the blade, hilt and guard. Its enchantments aren't immediately obvious just from looking at it, apart from the fact that it looks brand new - the blade un-nicked with no signs of rust or tarnish anywhere. The leather and inlaid wire on the hilt are pristine, showing none of the signs of wear that a well used sword might normally evidence. Even when used, blood and other muck doesn't seem to stick to it. Sadly the scabbard that it came in was less impressive - looking positively shoddy in comparison, albeit still serviceable. ===Details=== When you attack an object with this magic sword and hit, maximize your weapon damage dice against the target. When you attack a creature with this weapon and roll a natural 20 on the attack roll, that target takes an extra 14 slashing damage. Then roll another d20. If you roll a 20, you lop off one of the target’s limbs, with the effect of such loss determined by the DM. If the creature has no limb to sever, you lop off a portion of its body instead. You can roll the d20 again, and if you roll another 20, then you can lop off its head and kill it immediately. (Multi-headed creatures excluded). In addition, you can speak the sword’s command word ("Glow" - in Pacedonian) to cause the blade to shed bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet. Speaking the command word again or sheathing the sword puts out the light. ===History=== The party first encountered this sword in the hands of the wight Gothmog Plaguereaper when he attacked them in the cellars below Fort Frostfell, back in Session 004. The origins of the sword before then are currently unknown, though when a full identification spell was cast upon it, the spell revealed the command word to make it light up was in Pacedonian, so that hinted at the nationality of the person who made in no doubt. ===Other notes=== Morthos was the first one to pick the sword up - and when she tried to hand it to Cormir, he was shocked by it, taking necrotic damage. It seems that the sword is aligned in some way and Cormir's naturally good nature was abhorrent to it. When the detect magic ritual was first used on it, it radiated strong abjuration, transformation and necromantic magical auras.
