==Tempest Staff== ===Description=== The Tempest Staff is a gnarled wooden staff adorned with swirling patterns of lightning that seem to dance and shift across its surface. When held, the staff crackles with static energy, and faint arcs of electricity occasionally leap from it. ===Magical Aura=== When subjected to the spell "Detect Magic," the Tempest Staff emits a strong aura of Evocation magic, with faint traces of Abjuration. ===Details=== Type: Staff, rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster) - The Tempest Staff can be used as a magic quarterstaff that grants a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls. - It has 10 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast the following spells from it, using your spell save DC: - *Lightning Bolt* (3rd level, 3 charges) - *Thunderwave* (1st level, 1 charge; can cast at higher levels by expending additional charges) - *Call Lightning* (3rd level, 3 charges) - The staff regains 1d4+4 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the staff loses its magical properties and becomes a nonmagical quarterstaff. ===History=== ''The Tempest Staff was crafted by the renowned Storm elf artificer, Thrain Stormforge, in the ancient days when the elves first began to explore the mysteries of elemental magic. Thrain sought to create a weapon that could harness the fury of the storm, providing his people with a powerful tool to defend their lands.''
