As the session began, the adventurers gathered to discuss their current situation and the path ahead. Morthos, Cormir, Drex, and Mogadon prepared to move forward through an icy cavern, where the Dungeon Master described the imposing ice columns that loomed like stalagmites and stalactites, casting eerie shadows across the ground. The keen eyes of Morthos and Drex led to the identification of some ice structures as ice mephits, prompting the party to strategize their approach to the impending conflict.

Combat erupted as Drex unleashed an Eldritch Blast at one of the mephits, dealing some damage but failing to defeat it. The mephits retaliated with their chilling frost breath, forcing the party to make dexterity saving throws, resulting in varying degrees of cold damage. Morthos retaliated with Hellish Rebuke, igniting one mephit in flames and causing it to explode upon defeat, sending shards of ice flying and injuring nearby allies. The chaos continued as more mephits attacked, and Drex summoned Spank, his fire elemental familiar, to the fray, using its heat to combat the icy foes.

As the battle progressed, Mogadon stepped forward, striking one of the mephits and dealing significant fire damage before it too exploded, further complicating the battlefield with its icy shards. Morthos demonstrated his agility and tactical skill, striking another mephit and avoiding further explosions through careful positioning.
