Dagger of Venom Weapon[edit]
(Dagger), Rare (Requires Attunement)
Description[edit]
The Dagger of Venom is a sleek and menacing-looking dagger with a dark, envenomed blade. The hilt is adorned with intricate, snakelike patterns, and the pommel is shaped like a coiled serpent.
Details[edit]
Sleep Strike: When attacking with the Dagger of Venom, the wielder can choose to expend a charge from the dagger to coat the blade with a poison similar to that used by the drow. On a successful hit, the target must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or fall asleep for an hour. Taking damage or having a third party use an action to shake the victim will cause the condition to end.
Venomous Strike: When attacking with the Dagger of Venom, the wielder can choose to expend 2 charges from the dagger to coat the blade with a more potent venom. On a successful hit, the target must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or suffer an additional 2d10 poison damage. If the saving throw is successful, the target takes half damage.
The dagger has 4 charges, and it regains 1d4 expended charges daily at dawn.
Envenomed Critical: When the wielder scores a critical hit with the Dagger of Venom, regardless of whether they had spent a charge on Venomous Strike, the poison damage is maximized and the target automatically takes 20 (2d10) poison damage (they still get the DC 15 CON save for half), in addition to the normal damage from the critical hit.
