Messa is the young wife of Phelm Barristar the miller and baker at Fire and Grind - the windmill with attached bakery. When Morthos first entered the bakery, he noticed that Messa seemed upset, her eyes red and puffy from crying. Morthos barely had a chance to say hello before Phelm walked into the bakery with three children - two twin boys about 6 years old and a younger 3 year old girl. He had shooed his wife and children into their home so he could deal with the "customer".
