Description:

The Dagger of Venom is a sleek and menacing-looking dagger with a dark, envenomed blade. The hilt is adorned with intricate, snakelike patterns, and the pommel is shaped like a coiled serpent.

Properties:

Venomous Strike: When attacking with the Dagger of Venom, the wielder can choose to expend a charge from the dagger to coat the blade with potent venom. On a successful hit, the target must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or suffer an additional 2d8 poison damage. If the saving throw is successful, the target takes half damage.

The dagger has 4 charges, and it regains 1d4 expended charges daily at dawn.

Envenomed Critical: When the wielder scores a critical hit with the Dagger of Venom, the poison damage is maximized, dealing the maximum possible poison damage on the attack. For example, if the wielder expends a charge for venomous strike and scores a critical hit, the target automatically takes 16 (2d8) poison damage in addition to the normal damage from the critical hit.
